Terms & Conditions
These terms govern bookings, shop orders, servicing and participation in e-bike experiences provided by E-motion eBikes, operated by Overstrand Adventures, in Kleinmond and the Overstrand. By making a booking or purchase, you agree to them. Last updated: 16 September 2026.
1. What's included
The Weekly E-Scape includes a premium pedal-assist e-bike, helmet and safety gear, a compulsory safety briefing, licensed guide, accompanying marshal, approximately two hours of guided riding, sightseeing and photo stops within the three-hour session, and a lunch stop. The Private Coastal E-Bike Tour is a 2-3 hour guided experience tailored around the customer's chosen coastal village and preference for beach riding, village sightseeing or a combination. The Marshall-Supported Half-Day Rental is a four-hour supported experience. Bikes are supplied charged and safety-checked.
2. Weather & tide
Our rides take place outdoors and run weather-permitting; coastal rides may also depend on the tide. The Weekly E-Scape route rotates between the beach, Kleinmond sightseeing and Rooisands Nature Reserve according to the tidal window and conditions. If we cancel for weather, safety, route conditions or because the minimum group size is not reached, you may choose a full refund or transfer to another available date.
3. Booking & payment
The Weekly E-Scape costs R650 per guest and is paid in full in South African Rand (ZAR) when booked through Booklink. The Private Coastal E-Bike Tour costs R850 per guest, and the Marshall-Supported Half-Day Rental costs R1,000 per bike. These private and marshal-supported experiences may be secured with a 50% deposit or paid in full through a payment link. Any remaining balance is payable by card before departure. A booking is confirmed only after the required payment and booking confirmation.
4. Group size
The Weekly E-Scape runs with a minimum of two and a maximum of six paying guests. Group arrangements for the Private Coastal E-Bike Tour are confirmed with the customer before payment. The Marshall-Supported Half-Day Rental accommodates one to six customer bikes. The licensed guide and marshal do not count toward customer capacity. If a stated minimum is not reached by 24 hours before the start, the experience may be cancelled and eligible payments refunded or transferred to another date.
5. Changes, cancellations & no-shows
You may cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before the scheduled start. A booking may be rescheduled once, subject to availability. Eligible cancellations receive a full refund and E-motion absorbs the PayFast refund fee. Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows are not refundable except where required by law. If we cancel, you may choose a full refund or transfer at no extra cost. Refunds are processed manually and may take several business days to appear.
6. Who can ride & safety
The normal minimum rider age is 14. A younger child may be accepted by prior arrangement only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian on the same trip. The maximum rider weight is 110 kg. Rider height and experience help us allocate a suitable bike. You should be able to balance and ride a standard bicycle. An approved helmet, high-visibility reflective vest and closed-toe shoes must be worn, the pre-ride safety briefing is compulsory, and the licensed guide's and marshal's instructions must be followed throughout. You may not ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs; we may refuse participation, without refund, to anyone unfit to ride safely.
7. Health
Please tell us at booking of any medical condition that may affect your ride. You take part at your own risk and should be in good general health to do so.
8. Start points & routes
The Weekly E-Scape meets at Kleinmond Bike Park (Kleinmond Cycle Club). Private experiences may be arranged in Kleinmond, Betty's Bay or Pringle Bay. Routes, start points, timing and stops may change where necessary for safety, access, tide, weather or trail conditions.
9. Environmental conduct
Riders agree to our rider's code: keep it real, have fun, respect the environment, and leave nothing but tracks. Littering, leaving designated tracks, or disturbing wildlife may end the ride without a refund.
10. Your equipment
The e-bike and gear remain our property. Check your assigned bike during the briefing. Normal wear and tear is covered, but you may be liable for the cost of repair or replacement of equipment lost or damaged through misuse, reckless behaviour, or failure to follow instructions.
11. Photos
We may take photographs or video during rides for our marketing. Let us know at any time if you would prefer not to be included.
12. Liability & indemnity
All riders sign our standard liability waiver and indemnity before mounting the e-bike. Cycling carries inherent risks, including falls, collisions, and natural obstacles, which you accept by taking part voluntarily. To the extent permitted by law, e-motion, its staff and partners are not liable for any personal injury, loss, or damage to property arising from your participation, except where caused by our gross negligence. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
13. Route changes
We may adjust the route, timing or stops where needed for safety or conditions.
14. Shop orders & payment
Catalogue prices are in South African Rand, include VAT and are based on the supplier price list identified on the shop page. A customer may pay immediately for one catalogue item through PayFast for collection by arrangement. Multiple quantities, stock checks and delivery requirements are confirmed through WhatsApp and may be paid through a secure PayFast payment link. We do not store full card or banking credentials.
Catalogue stock can change before our records are updated. A direct payment does not guarantee that the selected item is available until we confirm the order. If we cannot supply it, you may accept an agreed alternative or receive a full refund to the original payment method. We will never substitute a product without your approval.
15. Product collection & delivery
Collection is by prior arrangement after payment and stock are confirmed. The customer must provide accurate contact and fulfilment information and inspect the item at handover where reasonably possible. Product delivery within the Overstrand, including its timing and fee, is quoted according to the item, quantity and destination. Risk passes to the customer on collection or completed delivery, without limiting rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
16. Bicycle service & repairs
A standard bicycle service costs R1,000 for labour, excluding parts. Repair work is assessed and quoted individually. No additional parts or work outside the approved scope will be charged without customer approval. The R200 Kogelberg transport charge covers one collection and one return of the bicycle and does not include labour or parts. Transport elsewhere in the Overstrand is quoted for the job. Service, repair and mobile work are not offered outside the Overstrand.
The customer must provide a safe, accessible handover or work location and disclose known faults or damage. Appointments should be changed at least 24 hours beforehand where possible. A failed collection, delivery or on-site visit caused by unavailable access may require a new transport quote. Completed bicycles and fitted parts are released after the agreed amount is paid in full.
